AAV MISSION

"Advocates Against Violence" was created to bring awareness to the life changes that occur from living in violent environments. We consider violent environments to include domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPV), child abuse, neglect, and sexual molestation (CANSM), random violence and those whom are affected by natural disasters.

Our Mission

We hope to bring awareness to victims of violence in all its forms and report information that affects those whom are affected by natural disasters. We hope to provide resources and spread awareness through research that will provide links to resources that will help victims of violence (family violence, domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect, child endangerment, child molestation, and those suffering from natural disasters (tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano eruptions, etc.). Moroever, we hope to include resources for victims of violence in all forms including victims of random violence (muggings, armed robbery, kidnapping, school violence, etc.).

Public Awareness Campaign - Volunteers Needed

Public Awareness Campaign - Volunteers Needed

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women (DAHMW) is a nonprofit agency that offers supportive services to and public awareness about the under-served victims of intimate partner violence. In order to bring more awareness and services we have entered the Pepsi Refresh Project.

Pepsi is giving away millions to fund great ideas. Pepsi only takes 1,000 submissions a month and DAHMW's proposal to the Pepsi Refresh Project has just been accepted for the month of August. For further information on the Pepsi Refresh Project go to their website at http://www.refresheverything.com

We need volunteers to promote our project idea and encourage people online to vote for us so that we can win this challenge. The two group's project with the most votes in the category we entered receives the funding for that month. Voting on our accepted submission starts on August 1 and ends August 31. People can vote for up to 10 ideas once each day.

This is a one-month volunteer project, from August 1-31, 2010. You will need a computer and internet connection. You must be able to go online daily to promote our project and voting.
